 도서관에서 공부에 집중하고 있을 때 어디선가 들려오는 말소리, 큰 소음은 짜증을 유발하죠. 하지만 '너무 조용한 환경에서는 집중이 되지 않아서' 공부할 때 도서관보다는 카페를 선호하는 학생들도 있다고 하는데요.  프린스턴 도서관에서 이루어진 실험에 따르면 아무 소리도 나지 않는 도서관보다 적당한 소음이 발생하는 도서관 환경을 이용자들이 더 조용하게 느꼈다고 합니다. 조용한 환경에서 집중을 깨트리는 여러 소음들에 방해받지 않도록 해 주는 일종의 사운드 마스킹 효과가 발생하기 때문이라고 하는데요. 실제로 노이즈가 집중력과 기억력에 미치는 영향에 대해서는 이견이 있습니다만, 졸지 않고 집중력을 유지하기 위해서 적절한 수준의 소음이 필요한 분들께 도움이 될 만한 사이트들을 소개합니다. 1. SimplyNoise: 심플한 화이트노이즈* 추천: Simple is the best 라고 생각하는 사람, 아이폰/안드로이드 어플로 이용하고자 하는 사람각각 주파수가 다른 3개 전자음(화이트, 핑크, 브라운 노이즈)와 음량 조절 버튼이 전부인 심플한 서비스입니다. 빗소리를 들려주는 Simply Rain과 함께 앱으로 출시되어 있습니다.(앱 버전은 유료입니다.) 들어보니 엠씨스X어가 생각나요.2. 혼자서, 도서관에서 카페 분위기 내기1) Coffitivity2) Rainy Cafe* 추천: 카페에서 공부가 가장 잘 된다고 생각하는 사람, 군중 속의 고독을 즐기는 사람 너무 적막하지도, 너무 소란하지도 않은 사람들의 말소리. 카페에 혼자 앉아 있어도 이런 소리를 들으면 편안해지곤 합니다. 약간의 소음이 있는 카페에서 공부하는 게 편하신 분들은 도서관에서 이어폰만 준비하면 이런 환경을 준비할 수 있겠네요. 3. Noisli  * 추천: 다양한 소리를 취향대로 조합해서 쓰고 싶은 사람, 조용히 글쓰기에 집중할 필요가 있는데 방해 요인이 너무 많은 사람,예쁜 인터넷 초기화면이 필요한 사람(?) 화이트 노이즈, 자연의 소리, 카페의 말소리 등 다양한 소리를 믹스해서 쓸 수 있는 서비스로,특이한 점은 텍스트 에디터 기능이 포함되어 있다는 점입니다. 배경음과 함께 광고창이나 실시간 검색어 등의 방해 없이 색지처럼 빈 창에 글을 쓸 수 있습니다.
